Required Software: Velleman, ActivStats/DataDesk (dual platform CD bound with text)
Reserved Statistics Book and Video Tapes in Math Library:
Freeman, D., Pisani, R., and Purves, R: Statistics 1978.
Tapes: Against All Odds, 13 hours of programs in VCR.

Homework: There are two types of assignments:
Textbook (graded) Sets of exercises assigned and collected on Wednesdays.
While you may discuss these with others and get help from Yanning, or one of the tutoring centers, the final work you submit must be your own.
No late HW will be accepted.
After homeworks have been returned, solutions (pdf) will be posted online.

DataDesk (graded) Computer investigations using our Statistics software will be completed during the Thursday labs. You may work with a partner on these.

Exams:
Prelim 1: Tuesday, September 27, 7:30 – 9:00 PM, Warren B45
Prelim 2: Tuesday, November 1, 7:30 – 9:00 PM, Warren B45
Final: Thursday, December 8, 7:00 P.M. Room: TBA
Conflicts If you have another exam at any of those times, see me right away – and at least 2 weeks before the exam. No makeups will be given if you miss the regular examination without permission.

Grading: Your grade will be calculated as follows
Textbook homework – 15%
DataDesk
homework – 10%
Class and lab participation – 5%
Prelims – 20% each
Final Exam – 30%
