Welcome!
The work of Pegden and Smart (Convergence of the Abelian sandpile, arXiv:1105.0111) opens the door to a rigorous understanding of the abelian sandpile scaling limit. This workshop will focus on questions related to the circle packing conjecture of arXiv:1208.4839. Time will be divided between traditional talks and informal discussion/collaboration. The goal is to bring together researchers on the abelian sandpile model, nonlinear PDE and Apollonian circle packings to probe the surprising new connections between these areas.
