MATH 778: Interacting Particle Systems and Percolation Processes (Spring 2005)

Instructor: Paul Jung

Meeting Time & Room

The study of interacting particle systems and percolation have played a major role in statistical mechanics in the past forty years. In this course we will examine some of the main models including the simple exclusion process, the contact process, and zero-range processes. The tools used to study these models include coupling, random walks, and percolation. If time permits we will discuss furthur results in percolation theory and prove hydrodynamic limits for certain particle systems.
