A natural question in symplectic geometry is, "When does one symplectic manifold embed symplectically into another?" This turns out to be surprisingly difficult to answer, even when the first manifold is a ball! I will give a quick introduction to what few answers we know to this question and point out many answers we do not know. I'll highlight some connections to discrete geometry and number theory. There will be a lot of pictures and I will not assume you know what "symplectic" means.
