Random planar geometry and the directed landscape

Abstract: Models of random interface growth and random planar metrics in the KPZ universality class are expected to converge to a universal limit under rescaling. This universal limit is the directed landscape, a scale-invariant random directed metric on the plane, recently constructed by myself, J. Ortmann, and B. Virag. In this talk I will introduce this object and describe its construction.
