Irena Peeva named 2014 AMS Fellow

Irena Peeva

Professor Irena Peeva has been named a 2014 Fellow of the American Mathematical Society (AMS). Professor Peeva was invited to join this year’s class of AMS Fellows “For contributions to commutative algebra and its applications.” The Department of Mathematics would like to congratulate her on this honor.

Founded in 1888 to further mathematical research and scholarship, the 30,000-member AMS fulfills its mission through programs and services that promote mathematical research and its uses, strengthen mathematical education, and foster awareness and appreciation of mathematics and its connections to other disciplines and everyday life. The AMS Fellow program was created in 2012.
