Ahmad Rafiqi
Welcome! I am currently a sixth year graduate student in the Mathematics Department at Cornell University, due to graduate in May 2018. My advisor is Professor John Hubbard, and my work is related to characterizing stretch factors of surface homeomorphisms. This has led to the study of geodesics within the Moduli space of complete Riemannian metrics or complex structures on the surface. The Teichmuller Polynomial of McMullen and the results of Eskin-Mizrakhani-Mohammadi and Hamenstadt have opened up new avenues of research in this area, and the prospects are very exciting! I am mostly interested in studying Topology and Dynamics.

Here is my resumé.
