In this talk I will describe the stringy cohomology of symmetric product of a wreath product orbifold and explain Ruan's hyperKahler resolution conjecture. I will mention the two ongoing projects related to the above result: one to generalize the stringy cohomology for an orbifold with a finite group action and the other to construct a model for quantum stringy cohomology.
