Abstract: Coxeter friezes are infinite arrays of numbers governed by local relations. These friezes can be used to systematically organize information about a triangulated $n$-gon in hyperbolic space. This connection to hyperbolic geometry supplies an explanation for a "miraculous" periodicity phenomenon in the world of Coxeter friezes. In this talk, we present analogous frieze patterns for Euclidean geometry, motivate the complications that occur in the construction, and talk about some payoffs, including periodicity and Laurent phenomena. This is joint work with Sergey Fomin.
