I was very excited when I learned that my good friends Ben and Sarah were going to have a child. Unfortunately, I was very busy in the months leading up to the birth and didn't have as much time as I would have liked to knit baby clothes, so I decided I would put all my baby-clothes-knitting energy into one sweater and try to make it special. This is some of my favorite yarn, Koigu. I wanted to showcase the wonderful colors in this handpainted yarn so after playing around for a bit, I knit the front panels on the diagonal and used mitered squares for the sleeves.
