To tell whether your book is first or second printing, look at the 
Library of  Congress Cataloging-in-Publication data page, page iv. 

Towards the bottom, just above the ISBN number,  is a list of 
decreasing numbers, starting with 10. If the last number in that
list is 1, the book is from the first printing; if it is 2, it is 
from the second printing; if a 3, it is from the third printing.
