OTHER INFORMATION
Greg
Lawler will give the Oliver Club Talk on Thursday, May 4, 4:15 -- 5:15
in 406 Malott on "Introduction to the Schramm-Loewner Evolution".
(Refereshments at 3:45 in the math department lounge).
Participants who arrive on Thursday can meet at Greg Lawler's office
(567 Malott) at 6:00 pm to go downtown for dinner. Afterwards
(say around 8:00) we will go to Korova bar (near Taste of Thai on the
Ithaca commons downtown) for drinks and conversation. If you come
in after 6, you can try to meet us there after 8.
Participants will be staying at the Best Western or Hillside Inn. You should be
e-mailed directly with your reservation. The Best Western has a
shuttle and will take you to campus Friday morning. We strongly
recommend you use the shuttle on Friday because parking is
scarce. However, on Saturday one can park for free near the
department and you should feel free to drive in (and leave immediately
after the talks). It is a fifteen minute (uphill) walk from the
Hillside to Rhodes or Malott Hall. Maps of Cornell campus can be found here.
The Friday morning talks are in 655 Rhodes Hall. Friday afternoon
and Saturday talks will be held in 251 Malott. Light breakfast
should be available 45 minutes before the first talk of the morning (in
whichever room the talk is held).
There is a reception Friday evening 5:30--7:30 in the Math Department
Lounge.
.
This meeting is partially sponsored by a grant to the Cornell
University by the National Science Foundation.
