Unitary forms of Kac-Moody groups

Abstract: In this talk we study unitary forms of (untwisted) finite groups of Lie type and (split) Kac-Moody groups over finite fields. Our approach to these groups is based on the theory of (twin) buildings, allowing us to generalize previously known results on algebraic groups to arbitrary Kac-Moody groups and their unitary forms. As an application, results on finite presentation of unitary forms of finite groups of Lie type, and on finiteness properties of unitary forms of split Kac-Moody groups are given.
