Linear differential algebraic groups are subgroups of GL_n defined by polynomial differential equations in the matrix entries. These groups are also Galois groups of linear differential equations with parameters. As usual, there is a correspondence between various properties of an equation and its Galois group, which we will discuss. Since the representation theory is the key for calculation Galois groups, we will discuss it as well.
