A Tale of Two Categorifications

We discuss how categorifications of affine Lie algebras and the Heisenberg algebra interact naturally vis a vis polynomial functors. We will also formulate Schur-Weyl duality in this language and describe how it is compatible with these higher structures. This talk will not assume any knowledge of categorification. Our results are joint with Jiuzu Hong.
