IT

I love machines and gadgets that you can program and/or that look sleek. I took computer science classes as an undergraduate student in mathematics at Jacobs University (Bremen, Germany) and learned more computer science through classes and seminars I attended out of interest at Cornell University.

I worked at SAP headquarters in Walldorf (Baden Würtemberg, Germany) in the summer of 2011. Specifically, I was involved in performance analysis of their new in-memory database technology. You can find some information about the business side of the product here. The book "In-Memory Data Management: An Inflection Point for Enterprise Applications" (available on Amazon ) has more detailed information about in-memory databases.

Facebook is great, but sadly it doesn't have support for mathematical formulas. I made a Facebook app that remedies this (as far as Facebook allows it). Go to http://apps.facebook.com/latexforfacebook, enter LaTeX code and post it to your Facebook wall!

I am beginning to do OS X and iOS development. However, since I have a thesis to finish it will be a while until my software is ready for the App Store.
