That semester and the next (Spring 93 and Fall 93), I also encouraged
my students (read: bribed them with extra credit points) to attend
several sessions of the Mathematics Department's Occasional
Seminar on Undergraduate Teaching (OSUG) on such topics as
Cooperative Learning which are relevant, so that the students could
both find out about math education reform efforts, and give their
personal impressions and feedback to teaching reformers.
I also created my first Activity that semester for my students
(assigned as extra-credit homework), before I even heard of
"Activities" as such. Here is
