Title: Interpolating between pipe dreams and bumpless pipe dreams
Time: 2:30 PM, Monday, November 15, 2021
Place:  Malott 206

Abstract: There are two ways to compute Schubert polynomials as sums over planar diagrams: pipe dreams [Bergeron-Billey '93], and bumpless pipe dreams [Lam-Lee-Shimozono '19]. I'll explain a natural framework ("generic pipe dreams") that interpolates between the two, computing a richer set of polynomials. Then I'll use these to compute the (multi)degree of the space of pairs of commuting matrices. This is joint work with Paul Zinn-Justin.
