Instructor: Tim Riley

Meeting Time & Room

We will study applications of Geometric Group Theory to cryptography. Topics for discussion could include: public key systems (Anshel-Anshel-Goldfeld, Ko-Lee), complexity issues (worst-case, average-case and generic), the word problem, the conjugacy search problem, Thompson's group, Braid groups, matrix groups, Miasnikov's black holes, and the security of the South Korean banking system.
