MATH 7110: Topics in Nonlinear Analysis (Fall 2012)

Instructor: Tim Healey

The course will cover various topics of nonlinear analysis with applications to differential equations: (1) bifurcation theory (branching of solutions): local theory, based on differential calculus in Banach spaces; global theory - based on topological degree: Brouwer degree, Leray-Schauder degree, Fredholm degree; (2) calculus of variations: the direct method.
