MATH 7810 - Logic Seminar: Proper Forcing Fall 2013

Instructor: Justin Moore

In the late 1970s Shelah isolated the notion of a proper forcing as a means to obtain models of set theory with strong combinatorial properties which are useful in establishing independence results. The topic portion of the seminar will both focus on consequences of the Proper Forcing Axiom and also on iterated proper forcing. The seminar will also feature outside speakers on a variety of topics.

Students who enroll in the course will be expected to regularly attend the seminar and to present material from a selection of research papers.
