Teaching Materials

Lights Out Workshop: this is a worksheet I wrote for Math 2210: Linear algebra, a first course in linear algebra. It explores an application of linear algebra to the electronic 90s game "Lights Out". You can find an online emulator of the game here. The worksheet is too long for a single discussion section, but can be broken up so that some questions are assigned as homework or completed prior to class. Ideally students will have seen determinants and matrix inverses before attempting it.

Sample linear algebra worksheets: representative worksheets from my linear algebra recitations.
Sample 1
Sample 2 Thanks to Balázs Elek for problem 2.

Sample calculus 1 worksheet questions: a compilation of questions I have written as an instructor for Calculus 1, which is taught in an active learning format.

Outreach

Ithaca High School Seminar Notes: the notes for the course I gave at Ithaca High School on knot theory for year 12 students with a strong interest in mathematics. More notes and information about the projects completed by the groups I mentored can be found here.
