MATH 632: Algebra (spring 2008)

Instructor: Shankar Sen

Meeting Time & Room

This is the second of the two core algebra courses. From the course catalog: MATH 632 covers Galois theory, representation theory of finite groups, introduction to homological algebra. Familiarity with the material of a standard undergraduate course in abstract algebra will be assumed. (MATH 631 is not a formal prerequisite.)

Most subjects, especially representation theory and homological algebra, will not be covered in depth, as the idea is to present a broad view with a glimpse of many topics.
