Teacher Training: Instructional Skills Workshop
For several years I have been involved in teacher training activities. Amongst other things, I have been running a training called the Instructional Skills Workshop. This is an intensive 3-day workshop for both new and experienced university instructors. It is run in small groups. During the workshop, each participant teaches three 10-minute lessons and receives verbal and written feedback. Thematic sessions are also organized on important university teaching topics. Moreover, participants are encouraged to take advantage of this secure and supportive environment to try new things in their lessons and integrate the newly learned concepts.
Since I arrived at Cornell in summer 2017, I have been organizing Instructional Skills Workshop specifically for the math department.
