- This year I focus on transforming the course MATH1106: Calculus for Life and Social Sciences. The goal is:
- redesign the syllabus to make it more relevant to life and bio majors (since they are the big majority of the students taking this course) and have the students retain more material than they previously did
- even though the class sections are relatively large (approx. 120-30 students), have the students be actively engaged in class through group activities, clicker questions and peer-instruction
- create class material that can be easily used by other instructors in the future

In 2017-18 I worked on re-developing the "general" calculus I course MATH1110. Since it is taught in small sections, I created worksheets with in-class as well as pre-class activities. The goal is manifold:
- have the students think about the concepts of calculus by themselves and give them the context why these concepts are interesting
- have the students be actively engaged in class by having them solve problems either alone or in group
- have some material that is easily used by other instructors (as each term there are new instructors teaching sections of this course)
Here are examples of the worksheets and pre-class activities created for this course.
