MATH 615: Mathematical Methods in Physics (Fall 2004)

Instructor: Leonard Gross

Meeting Time & Room

The content is designed to give a working knowledge of the principal mathematical methods used in advanced physics.

The topics covered will include Hilbert space, Generalized functions, the Fourier transform, Sturm-Liouville problem in ODE, Greens functions for ODE and PDE, the Feynman propagator, Laplace transform, asymptotic expansions, and, if time permits, linear operators on Hilbert space.
