Universally Rigid Tensegrities, Why the thing in Commons Room Holds Up

Abstract: Tensegrites are things made of inextendable cables and noncompressable struts that hold their shape often in any higher dimension. They are closely related to real quadratic forms and there are recent results that show that any tensegrity that is rigid in all higher dimensions can be explained by this theory, even tensegries in the line. Which of the following tensegirites in the line do you think flexes into 3-space?
