Abstract: Motivated by the study of generic mean curvature flow, Colding and Minicozzi introduce a notion of entropy of hypersurfaces, which is defined by the supremum over all Gaussian integrals with varying centers and scales. It is believed that the entropy is a natural measure of geometric complexity. In this talk, I will survey recent results on that hypersurfaces of low entropy are simple in various senses.
