We hunt for stratified manifolds with atlases so that each chart can be identified with a Schubert cell stratified by the opposite Schubert varieties. I will introduce basic concepts such as flag manifold, Schubert and opposite Schubert varieties, and Bruhat order in a concrete fashion, explain the relevant techniques, and do some baby examples.
