Translational scissors congruence

Translational scissors congruence considers Euclidean
polytopes, up to decomposition and gluing and up to translations. It
is a classical result of Hadwiger that the "Hadwiger invariants"
separate the translational scissors congruence classes; however, the
calculation of the relations between them are much more difficult.
These were identified by Dupont in 1980, using techniques of
homological algebra. In this talk we give a more homotopy-theoretic
perspective on Dupont's proof, which strengthens his result and
simplifies the exposition.
