In this talk, we will discuss a classical topic in Differential Geometry: Minimal surfaces. The existence theory for minimal surfaces has a long history, and has largely advanced the study of Geometry, Topology, Partial Differential Equations, Calculus of Variations, and Mathematical Physics. We will provide a brief introduction to this beautiful subject.
