Let f be a rational map on P^1 of degree d >_ 2. Then we know that the set of periodic points of period n equidistribute to the equilibrium measure of f. It turns out that if f is defined over a number field K, equidistribution still occurs if we only consider the Galois orbit of a n-periodic point, which can be a much sparser set. This was generalized to higher dimensions by Yuan and in this talk, I will explain how to make Yuan's theorem quantitative along with some consequences.
